Descartes quote can have a different meaning depending on the person. To me, the line says it all. Since he was a French philosopher, mathematician, and scientist, I think it has to do with intelligence and education. He says, "I think, therefore, I am" he is saying that he thinks and which automatically makes him smart. I don't think there is any deeper meaning than that . He simply said what he thought was true, though I don't think its's true. Thinking is not just for learning or teaching, it's for making the right decisions in life. For example, a student can have an average grade, but when it comes to choosing who they hang out with or if they look both ways when they cross the street, they do much better than that. In the end, all I'm saying is that his quote is very clear, but it might not be completely true.
